OBITUARY

It is with great sadness that I need to advise you all that Ms. Lena Sadick, a prominent figure in Hong Kong's lawn bowls history who passed away peacefully on May 24.
Lena has been actively involved in lawn bowls since the age of 24 and has won numerous titles over the years including 1981 Toronto World Outdoor Championships. She is instrumental in the formation of the Ladies Lawn Bowls Association and the development of bowls for the disabled. Her dedication to lawn bowls, especially for the disabled.
Lena was the first head coach of the Para team Hong Kong since 1983, she led the V.I. team to participate in 3rd International Blind Bowls Championships in 1985. Under her guidance, the V.I. B2 Pairs bowlers firstly taste a gold medal in 5th International Blind Bowls Championships 1993 in Victoria, Canada. 3 years later, Lena led team to Atlanta Paralympic in 1996 and won 1 silver and 1 bronze from V.I. and P.D. Lawn bowls event respectively.
After great success in 2014 Asian Para Games and 2015 IBD World Championships. She stepped down from the head coach role of team Para Hong Kong.
